I have a new text about Daniel Buren’s site specific installation for the 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival in a special issue of Variant magazine.


I wanted to see if a social art history positioned at the intersection of conceptual art and formalist abstraction could make a useful contribution to Variant’s wider intellectual project of mapping and critiquing cultural policy in ‘revanchist’ Glasgow…
